Out of interest- why would anyone want to watch a live stream of someone playing SimSig? Surely the game could either be done as a host (with a client joining as a spectator and communicating via skype/teamspeak/F10 messaging) or the game could be played and uploaded to YouTube, or, if it's possible, live-streamed over that site?

I can see some useful applications, especially if combined with a microphone. That said, it's probably a bit less appealing than watching someone play one of these new fangled games! Log in to reply |

Maybe a prospective buyer of a payware simulation could get a better view than in demo mode?

Imagine a video of Carlisle or W Hampstead with 58050 narrating... Sets route for 4M54 ... Amazing anecdote follows. I'd watch that! Log in to reply |

I'd save your Twitch streaming for some sort of non-standard play, like a speed run or something that uses glitching. I don't think SinSig in real time would be very popular XD Commentary would also help, especially if it explains railway signaling, how the rail network functions or both.

I think 30-60min of normal speed action of, say, Euston, West Hampstead or Carlisle - basically any sim which could be reasonably played alone - with some insights into what the person is thinking would be excellent. I'd definitely be interested watching someone who is/was a signaller, talking through the thought processes and decision making. Of course that could also be easily done on YaTub, but doing it live could then incorporate something like a Q&A session. I envisage something like: current signaller to operate, "colour commentator" for the background (Geoff, Keith or Pascal, for example) and a "host" to bring it together and handle questions, keep it ticking over. Would need a bit of planning and promotion, but think it could work and provide some value! Log in to reply |
