The manual makes reference to both workstations being Grade 7 in real life. When I visited several years ago the South workstation was technically Grade 7 but formed part of the Grade 9 link and was operated by Grade 9 signallers who also operated Leeds East (and Leeds East assist) and Leeds West workstations. At the time of my visit the North workstation was Grade 6 and formed part of the Grade 6 link along with Leeds Ardsley and Leeds North West workstations. It remains the same as you have described, Andrew G. There have been no re-gradings of any workstations; there are two links in the box.
