This is shown as going back out of Leeds the same way it came in - via Methley Jn! I'm sorry, but I find it difficult to believe that this is going to Manchester Airport via Sheffield (?) for the purposes of driver training. I think the passengers on this train would be a little worried that the might miss their booked flight. IMHO , the rote to Manchester Airport should be via the Cottingley Huddersfield line - the main Trans-Pennine route. The version of the timetable I have is Leeds-East-West 15-10-09.WTT version 1.0 and has a date (modified) of 02/02/2016 14:39 and file size 137 KB I have another WTT file in the timetables folder: Leeds East-West 15-10-09 - 0036.WTT date modified 03/02/2016 09.37 and file size 138 KB, which also declares itself as Version 1.0 and also starts at 00:00:00 I don't have a WTT file that starts at 0436. The SimSig loader says all my files are up-to-date, and I can't find any extra timetable files for Leedsew on the SimSig site. Can someone clarify what WTT files I should have please. Passengers won't be worried about missing there flight, as they will have been advised of the arrival time of the train when they look it up. It is for route retention as well. Most of these late night / early morning strange routings are. The train runs via Milford Jn, Castleford Jn, Methley Jn, Leeds, Methley Jn and Wakefield Kirkgate, before joining the normal route at Thornhill Jn and continuing to Huddersfield and Manchester. Thanks to all who replied with detail - the TT info on the routing to Manchester via WF/Kirkgate and Mirfield, and also the route plan for the Yorkshire Area were VERY, VERY helpful.

And that's Thornhill LNWR junction, not to be confused with the Thornhill in Scotland on the Glasgow and South Western route from Carlisle to Glasgow Central via Dumfries & Kilmarnock

I've been a passenger on these trains that go York bound from Leeds. It's odd to leave Leeds the way you came in but they do find their way to York eventually. Occasionally they do take the direct route and you are treated to a much earlier arrival into York than the public timetable would suggest. Nick Log in to reply |
