This item: > Default to first unread post in a thread (or at least have some way to get there; it used to be optional where clicking the thread name would take you to the first page of the thread while the X New Posts text would take you to the first new post) is now listed as fixed. I can’t see how to do this? When I go to the Latest Posts page, I see (1) the title of the topic which, if clicked, takes you to the first post in the topic (not the first unread post), (2) The Latest Post link on the right hand side which, if clicked, takes you to the last (newest) post in the topic, not the first (oldest) unread post, and (3) The red New icon, which isn’t a link. So what do I click on to get to the oldest message I haven’t yet seen? Last edited: 23/09/2016 at 04:56 by Hawk777 Reason: Markup bug Log in to reply |

Threads with new posts no longer seem to being flagged with 'NEW'.

Yep. Seems random which get flagged, see attached screenshot. I haven't looked at the latest threads but they are not marked 'NEW'.

I'm also seeing variable behaviour with the "New" icon, now you mentioned it. I had thought it was related to topics I hadn't opened at all before, but a week-old topic with a new reply ten minutes ago didn't show up as "New", although it is correctly ordered at the top of the "Latest Post" lists.

If anyone feels like working out a pattern, see the attached image - it's "Latest Posts", so ordered chronologically, and all are new posts since my last visit (when I made the post above). It's not obviously caused by subforum (two License Manager subforum posts showing different behaviour), not by replying user (two by GeoffM and mark265), and not by age of post (the older thread at the top was affected earlier).

That is down to your browser, not the SimSig website. Perhaps you had the cursor in a text field which would prevent it working. Interesting bit of behaviour, absolutely consistent over a significant period (I assume it's been happening since the new site went live but it took me a while to notice). Whenever I've read the forum I log out before leaving the site (and I wait until shown as such). But when I return to the Simsig site, I'm shown as logged in! Intriguing... not a problem to me unless it leaves a vulnerability of some sort. Could it be due to the fact that I have a fixed IP address from my ISP? Log in to reply |

There's a descrepancy between the times show here on site, forum times and PM times are showing correctly, but the upcoming games are for some reason showing (to me at least) 1hr ahead. I can post inforums and it shows that correct time (according to my timezone setting's) I partook in winsfords BNS, Derby and salt session, the start time was for 20:00BST but it was showing 21:00. I posted this message at 2255BST (give or take a few mins) Log in to reply |

It says on my profile for timezone "Current offset from server" 00.00 for London. So I assume the server is set for GMT. I guess if you are that bothered just set your profile for a zone that gives the right answer. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |
