Geoff,

Sorry if this has been mentioned in the thousands of posts. For us Seniors, we need a "Preview" in writing posts.`

Barry
To add to this one, an option for users to delete their own posts like there was on the old forum would be helpful/benifical

This item:

> Default to first unread post in a thread (or at least have some way to get there; it used to be optional where clicking the thread name would take you to the first page of the thread while the X New Posts text would take you to the first new post)

is now listed as fixed. I can’t see how to do this? When I go to the Latest Posts page, I see (1) the title of the topic which, if clicked, takes you to the first post in the topic (not the first unread post), (2) The Latest Post link on the right hand side which, if clicked, takes you to the last (newest) post in the topic, not the first (oldest) unread post, and (3) The red New icon, which isn’t a link. So what do I click on to get to the oldest message I haven’t yet seen?

Same as: https://SimSig.co.uk/Forum/PostView/85282

Will be fixed in due course.

Threads with new posts no longer seem to being flagged with 'NEW'.

Yep. Seems random which get flagged, see attached screenshot. I haven't looked at the latest threads but they are not marked 'NEW'.

I'm also seeing variable behaviour with the "New" icon, now you mentioned it. I had thought it was related to topics I hadn't opened at all before, but a week-old topic with a new reply ten minutes ago didn't show up as "New", although it is correctly ordered at the top of the "Latest Post" lists.

This post was flagged as new but the previous post https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/41821?postId=85314 wasn't .

If anyone feels like working out a pattern, see the attached image - it's "Latest Posts", so ordered chronologically, and all are new posts since my last visit (when I made the post above). It's not obviously caused by subforum (two License Manager subforum posts showing different behaviour), not by replying user (two by GeoffM and mark265), and not by age of post (the older thread at the top was affected earlier).
Post has attachments. Log in to view them.

Under the Fixed items on the Wiki page is:

Default to first unread post in a thread (or at least have some way to get there; it used to be optional where clicking the thread name would take you to the first page of the thread while the X New Posts text would take you to the first new post)

On my system the default when there is/are unread message(s) is now the last posting in the thread not the first unread posting.
Has now reverted to showing first post in topic . . [edit] - sometimes.

I noticed that the "Backspace" key does not work as previously presented in SimSig.

Presumably the backspace button goes "back" a web page. That is down to your browser, not the SimSig website. Perhaps you had the cursor in a text field which would prevent it working.

If you're using Chrome then that was fixed back in April to stop people hitting backspace and losing data in forms.

Interesting bit of behaviour, absolutely consistent over a significant period (I assume it's been happening since the new site went live but it took me a while to notice). Whenever I've read the forum I log out before leaving the site (and I wait until shown as such). But when I return to the Simsig site, I'm shown as logged in!

Intriguing... not a problem to me unless it leaves a vulnerability of some sort. Could it be due to the fact that I have a fixed IP address from my ISP?

There's a descrepancy between the times show here on site, forum times and PM times are showing correctly, but the upcoming games are for some reason showing (to me at least) 1hr ahead. I can post inforums and it shows that correct time (according to my timezone setting's)

I partook in winsfords BNS, Derby and salt session, the start time was for 20:00BST but it was showing 21:00.

I posted this message at 2255BST (give or take a few mins)

The times shown in the messages you now see are your location times. Not BST times.

Confused!

Geoff,

Has Shout Box posting times attached to each post been requested?

Yes, though it may be implemented as pop-ups rather than cluttering the shout box with more text.

For me that would be BST (British summer time),

Have you tried clearing cookies for SimSig.co.uk? I remember that after Geoff had declared this issue as fixed, I had to manually clear my browser's cookies once in order for logging out to actually start working.

It says on my profile for timezone "Current offset from server" 00.00 for London. So I assume the server is set for GMT. I guess if you are that bothered just set your profile for a zone that gives the right answer.
