Hi all,

Just wanted to ask if the shop was up and running. I have tried to purchase licences for some simulations but after submitting my card details I get an error response. Was just wondering if anyone else had any success.

Mark (Gwasanaethau).

Update: It seems the built-in card-payment facility is not currently working, but you can still pay by card using the PayPal option (you do not need to sign up for an account).

I did a test purchase using both methods but I will try again. There were several orders over the weekend and only one complaint (which seemed to be directed at PayPal rather than this website) but feedback would be appreciated on the, um, "user experience".

Sure thing.

The card payment method worked fine up until the point where you click to actually make the purchase. I could enter my address fine (and it saved correctly for future payments), and it accepted all my card details (it correctly identified the type of card I was using from my card number – won’t say more than that on the forum!) but once the button to “Charge my card £**.**” was pressed, the page immediately transitioned to an error page (identical to the attachment – note that the screenshot was taken on a different occasion). It seems that none of the details were sent.

As regards the ‘user experience’ the only thing I’d mention is that the spinners for the month and year on the card details screen scroll into negative values, and into some mad values (e.g. Month 42 in the year AD 532).

Anyway, these are minor things, as the PayPal card payments still work, and I know you’re incredibly busy with everything else going on. I’ll say now that we appreciate all this work and look forward to it all working as you like it (as are you, no doubt!).

Good luck!

Mark (Gwasanaethau)

EDIT: Sorry, I can’t attach the picture at the moment. It’s just a standard SimSig page with “An error occurred while processing your request.” written in dark red.

Reason: Attachment won’t attach!

I've had exactly the same problem today whilst trying to purchase the Edinburgh simulation. I get the following error message “An error occurred while processing your request"
Now I know that I could probably use the PayPal 'guest' method, but quite frankly after reading the 'Terms and Conditions' I didn't want to. I've therefore decided to wait until the payment problem has been resolved. I'd just like add that there's no rush as I've got plenty to be getting on with, but could anybody give any idea how long it might be before it's sorted?

Thanks

We're working through all of the website issues, though at the moment I wouldn't like to give an estimate on when it will be resolved. Bear with us and I'll try and get you an update soon.
