Quote from NR Platform 0 was opened at Doncaster station this week. The new platform was built to ease congestion at the busy junction on the East Coast Main Line, and is the first part of a multi-million pound improvement programme at Doncaster, with work continuing over Christmas. Local trains, travelling between Doncaster and Scunthorpe and Hull, now use the new platform, moving them away from the long distance high speed and freight services, allowing services to move through the station more efficiently.
