DaveHarries in post 93467 said:Much as I would love to be able to come and have a play with the new sim I will be on the north Devon coast on the weekend of the meet. For future reference, you can often find cheaper fares using the split-ticketing ploy. Trainsplit.com will even do the hard work for you if you pay over a proportion of the saving to them. For 18/03/17 they are currently offering a round trip from Exeter to Sheffield without Railcard at £71.80 plus their commission of £6.34. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 04/03/2017 at 13:14 by postal Reason: edit Log in to reply |

Ah, this sounds good. I was in the Sheffield Tap a few weeks ago, but have never been to the Banker's Draft, so I look forward to it. If anyone sees me heading in the general direction of Kelham Island and its pubs, please call the police. Otherwise I'll probably never get home. It was touch and go (and a somewhat convoluted route) last time... See you all there. Log in to reply |

Supertram wise, I'd be surprised to see a Middlewood tram at the station! But for those wanting a longer tram ride could alight from rail at Meadowhall and get the tram (adjacent to PL1) and grab a yellow for Middlewood or purple for Cathedral to alight at the 11th stop (Castle Square) The fare will cost you £2.30 single or £3.90 Day rider and is a ~20 minute journey from MHS. (£1.60 single / £3.00 return if traveling from station) (South Yorkshire or English National or Mobility concessionary pass or London Freedom pass holders can travel for free) The train now standing on platform 2, should be on the rails Log in to reply |

I still plan to attend but do not now expect to have a laptop. I'll just have a surface with a screen that isn't really large enough for Simsig, in my view.

Well unfortunately I'm now unable to come along today. I was asked to write the Chiltern train plan for Oxford playing Coventry at Wembley, and after working on it for 55 hours, I am still nowhere near finishing it. Apologies to the organisers of today for not playing my part! Hope to see you all next time. Guy H.
