I was just wondering if an update or new sim was just relesed, as nothing is showing in 'Check for Updates'

I ask as I got the 'New' flash up on starting the loader, But on checking for an update/new sim, there was nothing there to download/update.

I think there is a new update to the Licence Manager but the process is not working.

When I opened the advanced option as a result of the "New" message I saw a Licence Manager update and no other updates in the listing. There are currently of the order of 20 sims in the update manifest which are not on my machine and which I do not want to download. They were all checked as hidden/no action under the Advanced option the last time I ran the Updater and were not showing when I ran the advanced option this time. With the Licence Manager update high-lighted I clicked on "update selected" and got every hidden sim I did not want installed on my hard disk, followed by a message that the update process had not worked for the Licence Manager.

I have got rid of the stuff I didn't want and have opened the updater again. The sims I do not wish to download are all still marked as hidden/no action and not showing in my default view.

Looks like there are a couple of bugs in the way the updater is working on my machine.

1. Why is the updater not following the "no action" instruction?
2. Why is the licence manager update not working?

UPDATE: Ran the updater again and set it to show all of the hidden files. All the sims were marked as "no action". I selected only the Licence Manager, clicked on "update selected" and again started getting all of the "no action" files. Killed the process as soon as that started so I don't know whether the failure of the licence manager update was a one-off or generic.

License manager is currently at 4.5.13.1 which came out in December 2016. I have had that one since its release, and from what I can tell that is still the current release.

My only concern about the new updater is the way it now attenpts to install all sims, even if the sims is not a sim set for install on the updater. It used to be that for a number of sims (yet to be converted to updater install) that you had to use the installer package from the download section first then check for updates, but if you did not install a sim you never got shown the update, but now those sims that still require the installer from downloads will show in the updater and download it even if you never installed it, but then you get the situation where a user will have the *.sim file but no timetables or the splash pictures.

Installed version on my machine is v4.5.13.1 and the updater is trying to update it to v4.5.13.1 so it looks like a spurious "New" flash.

Apologies. While testing a major update to the refresher, it inadvertently incremented the live version number which causes the clients to think there is a new version. I hope to finish that update today.

When I check for updates it shows V4.5.13.6 but on the loader it shows V4.5.13, is this correct?

That is correct
Currently:
SimSigloader.exe is at 4.5.13
SimSigrefresher.exe is at 4.5.13.6

If I remember correctly on release of 4.5.13 of both, the refresher underwent some minor updates just after release, so the build No was increased so that is why it currently shows as .6 at the end.

I belive the format used to denote versions is as follows (V.MJ.MN.B)

V = version
MJ = Major update
MN = Minor update
B = Build, (not always used)

Sims only have MJ(V).MN.B so I'd guess that's the same with everything else.

Reinstalled system files as per advice and everything now looks tickety-boo (no sims which are not required etc).

Thanks, GeoffM.
