No idea what happened here as nothing has changed my end as far as I'm aware. Anyway my 22 licenses are shown as being allocated to another machine. In view of this do I need to send 22 requests to unallocate licenses (just sent one so far for Tyneside) or is there a way to do this en masse ? Either way is OK for me, just trying to make things easier both me and for the Admin team.

Thanks for any info.

If you can run the sims you do not need to do anything. There is a technical problem with the License Manager. If not Mr Mayo may assist you.

Just send a request for each one - there isn't a mass-unlock button in License Manager.

Ok, I got a message saying the one I had asked to be released had been (thanks by the way ) so 21 more to go. Sorry Admin, 21 requests coming at you.

Is there not an easier way ??

I'm fairly sure there was a bug-board ticket for a release-all button, but I can't find it now. It's been discussed on the forum recently that it's much easier for the admins to respond to requests made in the normal manner than hunt through the entire database to do all of them manually.

Thank You to Admin for their prompt attention. No idea why this happened but all seems now resolved.

Much appreciated for all the help.

I had a simular thing happen a few years ago, although in my case I know what I had done, back in the days of XP the computer name was normally made up of I think company name and then a random string of numbers/letters (automaicly done unless you put in your own chosen computer name) something like SimSig-9876AB5 (been a long time since I have seen a XP computer name made at random.)

One day I decided to change it to something else, and low and behold my SimSig licenses now showed as allocated to another machine. I resorted to restoring my PC from a backup I made prior to the PC name change I was able to get them as they should of been.

I am not implying this is an XP only issue, it may or may not be, it's just that it was the OS I was using at the time this happened to me, and I am not inclined to try it on my current OS
