Timetable has been released and is available to download here. The package also contains extra splash screens for the 3 Cardiff simulations. Note that it's in the Aston folder until a Cardiff folder is created. Mod note now in the Cardiff category.

Description:

A busy Saturday timetable for Cardiff PSB. South Africa plays Wales at 17:30 tonight, with ATW and GWR running extra services to handle the crowds. Timings are taken from RTT, and train formations are as allocated on the day in quesition. Small adjustments have been made to GWR services- in reality, signalling issues at Bath disrupted the GWR service, however this timetable represents the planned service for the day. Platform allocations are as per the schedules- any conflicts are for the signaller to deal with as they see fit. In the event, Wales won 27-13.

Service pattern:

Arriva Trains Wales

The usual Saturday service operates, consisting of:

4 tph Penarth- Bargoed (1tph extends to Rhymney)
2tph Barry Island- Merthyr Tydfil (1tph in reverse direction runs to Bridgend)
2tph Barry Island- Aberdare (1tph runs from Bridgend)
2tph Cardiff Central- Treherbert
2tph Coryton- Radyr
6tph Cardiff Queen Street- Cardiff Bay
1tph Manchester- Carmarthen (extends every other hour to Milford Haven)
1tph Cardiff Central- Ebbw Vale Town
1tph Cheltenham Spa- Maesteg (some trains run to/from Cardiff Central only)
1tp2h Cardiff Central- Swansea stopping service
1tp2h Cardiff Central- Holyhead

In addition, shuttles to Newport operate from Cardiff before and after the match. The loco-hauled set also works an extra service from North Wales, and various other additional trains run. Valley Lines services are formed of the usual Class 142, 143 and 150 combinations, with 158s also appearing on Maesteg and Ebbw Vale Town turns. Class 175s operate almost all Marches services.

Great Western Railway

1tph London Paddington- Swansea
1tph Cardiff Central- Portsmouth Harbour
1tph Cardiff Central- Taunton

GWR are also running several extras from London, Port Talbot, Swansea and Bristol. HSTs operate London and West Wales relief services, with 3-car Class 158/9s on Portsmouth turns, and Class 150s (2 and 3 car) on Tauntons.

Cross Country

1tph Cardiff Central- Nottingham

Nottingham services worked by 2- or 3-car Class 170s. Voyagers appear on the morning and evening Manchester service, and the one additional service run in the evening.

Freight

Some freight runs, consisting of the usual steel flows to Margam and Cardiff Tidal. The daily container train works to Wentloog, along with some coal traffic for Aberthaw, although the latter is much reduced as Aberthaw power station's days are numbered.
