I have a small library of sounds, some of which I have assigned to various messages, so that I know the degree of importance of the messages that I receive. However, recently the sounds that I’m getting are all identical and seem to be suspiciously Windows-like. I have checked that the various sounds are still as I selected in options/messages and they are. The library is also still intact and still in the folder where I saved it.
I first noticed this whilst playing Peterborough a couple days ago, but it’s also happening with other sims.
Has anybody else had this problem?
What’s causing it and what’s the solution, if there is one?

I've had this problem, it happened to my phone sound (I just remember the XP critical stop (strange as this box isn't XP!))

The point being after an update SimSig either disassociated the sounds from the notifications (but kept a record of them still being set) or more likely deleted them (as I keep them in the SimSig data directory (public docs).

I think it was the latter, but cannot remember for sure

In any sim open F3 & re-assign & or replace the files themselves to solve

The train now standing on platform 2, should be on the rails

Thanks rfw.
I have now re-assigned the sounds and all is working perfectly.
