What's the purpose of LJ68 at Conwy? I know it's to allow trains to run wrong-direction and terminate at Conwy, but does anyone know why provision was made for this movement?

Yes, in past there was a ground frame just beyond LJ68. LJ68 had a subsidiary aspect underneath which gave access across the ground frame.

The reason for the ground frame I can't remember exactly, a quarry, or something to do with the A55 construction off the top of my head.

The Groundframe was to provide access to stone sidings for the construction of the road. In the 1991 WTT I have theres also a couple of Llandudno - conwy shuttles which utilise it.
