Ok, I may have misunderstood what was going on here, however just bought the three Cardiff sims in the pack, and thought that I could launch all three together to see how far I got with running them all linked together. So first question is .... Can I launch all three at the same time and link them, and second question is, if so - how? Thanks all you wise ones. Log in to reply |

You need to start all three simulations up as servers, each on a different port. Start Cardiff on 50505 Start Valleys on 50507 Start VOG on 50509 Once they are all started in Valleys click Multiplayer->Connect to external signalbox select Cardiff and port 50505. Do the same on VOG. Use the clock on Cardiff to start or pause all three. Ok, not as easy as I first thought - never done this before. I see how to generate my IP address I see how to connect as a server and doing that, see how to change port, but as I connect VOG to Cardiff it disconnects. I'm guessing you going to say tha tthere is a wifi for this procedure? Yes?

Ok, sorry but still got problems - system disconnecting me. And so this is what I'm doing, please can you fault find it for me? Using Launcher to start a new simulation. Selecting Cardiff from my list >> next, Selecting first timetable in standard list > Cardiff SO 03 09 2016 Start (as happens)>> next, 'None' scenario [to keep it simple, no closures etc], >>next, Options as default, >>next, Run as SimSig server Enabled, primary port selected, >> Start. Once running, Click on Multiplayer/connect to external signalbox, >> Select VoG, IP address 127.0.0.1 Port 50507, synchronise time, connect >> Message box shows message: Server has discinnected you, & client at 127.0.0.1:50507 has disconnected. Can you see where I'm going wrong? Thanks. Log in to reply |

If you want Cardiff to be the master did you load Cardiff, bring up the Loader again and start VOG as that bit is missing from the time line. Then if you want Cardiff to be the master you use the "connect to external signalbox" on the VOG panel to connect to Cardiff on 50505. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 25/07/2017 at 21:55 by postal Reason: None given Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Steve L |

Steve L in post 96609 said:Can you see where I'm going wrong?Postal is right so just to expand a little: - Each of the three simulations you want to play must be started with the "Start new simulation" option - *not* the "Join a multiplayer simulation". Each must be on a unique port number (50505, 50507, 50509, for example) - Once the three are running, you connect them together using the "Connect to external signalbox" menu option "Join a multiplayer" means to play the same area as a client (guest(s) of a host), not to connect signalboxes together. Yes I see that now - who said it's obvious when you know how, I wasn't launching the Sims, just expecting the system to find them in the folder if I connected as I described. I'll give that a go, proabbly tomorrow now. Thanks both for your help. Was I missing something in the Wiki - is this written up anywhere, cause I could find how to do it anywhere? Thanks again Steve Last edited: 25/07/2017 at 22:08 by Steve L Reason: None given Log in to reply The following user said thank you: postal |

As trains cross from one sim to another they try and pick up their equivalent timetable in the new sim so the various TTs need to have been written to carry common data across the boundary. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |
