Could anyone recommend a TT with lots of freight movements please, or alternatively lots of shunting. Thanks Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate. Log in to reply |

The 1970s Carlisle timetable probably has the most shunting. South Humberside has a lot of freight, as well as the early Sheffield timetables.

Could try my Carlisle October 2016 Timetable which has quite a bit of freight workings but hardly any shunting, but recommend it's 1970 timetable for the most shuntings. Also recommend York summer 1991 timetable & Peterborough 1977 Friday 1st July 1977.

Try also the Cambridge 1977 Timetable - lots of loco hauled run-rounds and tricky freight timings

Seconding South Humberside, tons of freight movements to and from Immingham.

Motherwell 1984 - trip workings all over the place along with long distance freights requiring regulating along the WCML towards Carlisle. The Carlisle TT as previously mentioned is excellent as well.
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway. Log in to reply |

When the Carlisle sim gets released on loader the Carlisle 1979-1980 timetable is a whole lor different to the one that you can run now. All of the timetables I have written have alot of freight as there was far more freight traffic running on the railways than the modern era timetables. Furthermore BR era timetables also have trip workings & alot more shunting movements. My York summer 1991 timetable has alot of freight traffic in it & you also have the added advantage that you get varied amounts of freight on different days of the week. This timetable is currently being upgraded & will be re-released next week at some point. So I'd say try York summer 1991 tt. It also incorporates the trai crew relief option as well. Also my Saltley 1995 timetable has alot of freight traffic in it also so try that one. West Hampstead 1991 tt as well.

I will definately be purchasing the York sim in the very near future. With regard to the Loader version of Carlisle, I look foward to that as well.
