Been playing Simsig for a few months now, and I want to buy some new simulations. But I was hoping I could solve a few issues I have first.

1) How do I remove trains?

I notice on some simulations this task is straight forwards, but ones that are booted through the loader don't seem to have this option.

2) How do I shunt trains around if I put them into the wrong platform.

EXAMPLE: Two services are joining at Haywards Heath, but I put one into p4, and the other into p3. After that they will sit their blocking the line.

3) Is there any way of quickly checking train lengths and comparing it to platform lengths?

----

Unrelated question to above: If I wanted to develop or help develop a simulation, if that's possible. Where would I find out what is involved?

1. F2 train list, select train, right click, select extreme measures, remove train.

2. F2 train list, select train, right click, select timtable options, abandon timetable. Shunt as required. To change direction, select signalling options, reverse direction. When in correct location select run to another timetable, select the correct timetable and location.

3. F2 Train list, select train, right click, select timetable options, edit timetable, select train characteristics tab.

AH, excellent. I didn't realise you could right click the train list. Very helpful. Thank you.

Alternatively, timetable options-> edit timetable, and insert the appropriate locations for the moves you want to make. If you're doing something extremely strange though, Dick's method is the only one that will work.

Train lengths are listed in F2, 7th column. The appropriate simulation manual should have a list of platform lengths; if there are any you need that aren't listed, stick a post on here and someone will add them.

Please see this FAQ. That said, if you are in a position to supply detailed signalling plans etc., get in touch with GeoffM or one of the other admins via PM.

Train lengths are given in one of the columns in the Train List.
Platform lengths are usuall given in the appropriate simulation manual.

Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate.
