When the Trawsfynydd branch was still in use, what token arrangements were in place? Was the branch simply an extension of the current Llanwrst- Blaenau token, or was it possible to 'shut in' a train on the branch in the way trains can be shut in the loop at Blaenau?

There was a Blaenau Ffestiniog - Trawsfynydd One Train Working Staff. This was kept at Llanrwst box and was issued to trains destined for Trawsfynydd. The keys attached where for some of the TMO crossing gates. On arrival at Blaenau Ffestiniog the train crew would need to operate the No 3 ground frame and let themselves into the Trawsfynydd section, then surrender the North Llanrwst - Blaenau Ffestiniog token into the remote instrument. When they got back the procedure was reversed. An odd concept as you'd effectively had two tokens in your possession for part of the journey.
