Hi all, Could anyone explain what a "Special Timing Pattern" is please, and explain how and why it is used. It isn't clear to me in the wiki which says only this:- Special Timing Pattern- Only used on ARS Simulations, this will cause the TT to be recognised as a Special Timing Pattern, which can be applied to a train so that ARS will route it differently. I believe it's so that, in times of disruption or when a special service is laid on at short notice, the ARS can still be used to relieve the workload in the signalbox instead of manually routing many trains. The STP is essentially a template timetable and routing that can be applied to an individual train, from ARS' point of view. AFAIK, it hasn't actually been used in SimSig timetables that I'm aware of, so I have no idea how to use it in practice. Log in to reply The following user said thank you: VInce |

The STP is a template to allow the train to at least be routed by ARS, though at a lower priority generally. SimSig Boss Log in to reply The following user said thank you: VInce |

I've updated the relevant pages (Timetable Editor and ARS) in the Wiki to explain how to create and use special timing patterns.
