York 2016 Ferrybridge Diversions.

I’m playing this sim in in Standard mode in the most recent era that I was able to set. The TT notes advised that it should be run in the 2015 era, although I recall that this wasn’t offered as an option, only 2011 and earlier, or 2012 and later.
I’ve left several areas under ARS control, including York Station ‘LYKNUP’

I’ve noticed the following:
Trains approaching signal No. 304 on the ‘Up’ fast (north of the station) and timetabled to platform 3 are being held at signal No.304. The roundel LYKNUP is solid indicating that ARS should automatically route the trains. However, they stay there unless the route is set manually, or, and this is what is interesting, the ‘LYKNDN’ roundel is clicked and becomes solid. Signal 304 then clears and the train enters P3. This roundel is for ARS for the down trains though.
This doesn’t happen with trains timetabled to platform 9. They proceed as one would expect. Can't recall if trains to any other platforms are affected.
I'd be surprised if nobody else hasn't noticed this.

I have attached a snapshot in case it is required. The snapshot is timed at 16.10, but this has been happening for quite some time.
Sorry if this has already been reported and has subsequently been fixed, or will be for a future update. I did look through the York posts, but couldn’t see anything.

All comments welcome. (except rude ones that is) :)
Thanks
Bugsy

Update. 1V66 to P11 also routed correctly at approximately 16.37.30

Trains to P11 appear to get routed ok. See update above.

And P8. That only leaves P5 and P10. So the problem may only relate to P3. I'll keep you posted.

P5 also OK. That just leaves P10

There is an option to edit a post, rather than repeatedly quoting yourself and adding a tidbit of information.

I have checked with the source IECC data and the simulation is correct.

There is not a consistent way of allocating subareas but there are themes:
1. Each track section is allocated a subarea, and any route has to have all subareas on for the track sections it traverses.
2. Subareas for down movements, separate subareas for up movements, sometimes split into smaller chunks.
3. Each signal is allocated to a subarea and either (3a) each route needs both entry and exit signal subareas on; or (3b) route requires just the entry signal subarea on; (or (3c) the exit signal's subarea.
And probably more variations.

I suspect the thinking behind LYKSUP and LYKSDN is not direction but "up side" of the station (plats 1, 3) versus "down side" (plats 5,6,7...).
