Simulations with alot of shunting operations? 25/06/2018 at 13:08 #109924

For those of you who are more interested in the BR era timetables as there's alot more to do & think about I'm currently writing a LTS timetable for 1994. I know at this point Railtrack came into being, but as I've got the WTTs for this period as well as the loco diagrams I thought I do this timetable. There's plenty of rfreight traffic in this timetable as well as shunt movem, ents in & around Rippple Lane yard. Freight traffic is significantly heavy for this area due to the freightliner terminals at Ripple Lane & Tilbury as well as the traffic generated by Fords at Dagenham. There's also an extensive oil programme from Thames Haven refineries as well as other block freight train traffic to Dagenham Dock ARC plus some engineers traffic. The passenger service is quite intense to & is all unit based.
Another timetable I started 4years ago was Wimbledon 1981-1982. But due to a heavy workload writing timetables for developers I've not managed to do alot with it. However Lagertoe(Mark) kindly volunteered to finish off all the passenger & parcels trafficas he had the WTTs. So I sent him all the CWNs for it & other stuff I had incl. loco diagrams & I'm pleased to say that that timetable is progressing very well & should be released during the summer. That one will also be busy with light loco movements around Waterloo & Clapham Yard as well as alot of of cross London freight traffic. There will be signifgicant number of stock movements shunting in & out of both Wimbledon T&RSMD/Clapham Yard via the carriage washer plus the LUL traffic on the line to & from Wimbledon station. Thankfully you've got ARS on that one.
There are a whole host of timetables I want to do myself, but it's a case of time as timetables written for devlopers obviously take priority over timetables I want to do myself. Meld mentioned in an earlier post about the Sheffield 83/84 timetable we did way back when... That could be completely re-written if & when Sheffield becomes a scrolly. I will also write a Sheffield 1987 timetable to chain with Peak Forest as I've already started writing a 1987 timetable for Derby, but at present there are a number of issues on that sim preventing a BR era timetable to be written, buit when it does then That could chain to Trent(if that ever gets a make over to cover the BR era)which for me has always been my favourite sim as I always wanted to be a driver at Toton depot & I used to go there when I was on the footplateduring the 1980s. Trent 1987 timetable for me would be 'The Holy Grail' with all the traffuic flows & trip workings around that area.

Have you renamed the saved WTT file that you merged into sim ???

Simple Quick Guide

After opening Sim

1 - Go to the timetables menu and open/merge the old WTT/WTR timetable (which you appear to be able to do)

2 - After Merging timetable from the same timetable menu open save as (next line below open/merge) - then rename the timetable with a new different name from the original then save

3 - Reopen Sim and you should then see your version of the timetable in the TT list.

An easy quick test to see if this has worked is to move the WTR file out of the folder, open the TT up and see if the rules tab is populated -if there are rules you've done it right
Meld, you've just explained in a clear and precise way, how you make the timetable appear in the list of options when starting a new sim via the loader.
If someone had done this in the first place, we wouldn't have gone round in circles.

I have done what you suggested above and when starting a new sim via the loader, my timetable appears in the list.

Thank you

Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate.
