Hi all,
I was wandering if it is possible to have an estimated time of arrival on the timetable when it is running late. It would be a helpful feature (as I'm currently playing the Kings Cross sim, which has plenty of trains). Just having the ETA next to the timetabled arrival/departure time would do, a bit like Realtime Trains etc..

I believe that the Simplifier on F8 tells you how late the train is and you should be able to work out the ETA yourself.

The Timetable pop up also shows how late a train is running

This is not perfect to use for ETA as delay time can change between TT points.

F8 is the best option to use!

Why would it make a difference? If a train looses additional time or recovers time it will update on both

Yes, but the TT pop-up does NOT show an estimated time of arrival at x-station, whereas F8 does.

Seeing as the OP is asking for an ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival), then F8 is what he's looking for?

Er no, it doesn't. It just shows the scheduled arrival/departure times and the delay at the last timing point, same as you're also seeing in the timetable popup.

On ARS sims it used to be the case that the timetable popup would show the live delay as calculated by ARS, but that changed at some point and now it's only showing the delay at the last timing point same as on non-ARS sims. The live delay still drives the colourised train describer if you've enabled it, though.

Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.

Now what would be really interesting would be an indication as to how the train is doing compared to how much it was delayed when it entered the SIM. I like to run my SIM's with the failures cranked up and if this information was available on the show timetable box I would be able to judge how much time I had saved or lost based on the entry condition as the train goes through it's route.

Not sure if this is something that could be added but I for one would appreciate it if possible.

Thanks.

Mantis 21458 and 21459 for this and the ETA. No promises.

Correct me please if I am wrong, but I am certain that the last time I used F8 it showed arrival time and ETA if the train is delayed?

ADDITIONAL: Just double-checked. I'm going back to my sleepy corner where everything is made of cushions and I don't have to use my brain.
