Hi

Has anyone else had issues with licences recently? I have used Simsig on this laptop for many months now, but gone in to it today and it suggests that all my licences are allocated to another machine? Well I have not used it elsewhere and all seems a little curious. I have requested a licence unlock via the manager but it says it can take up to 28 days which is a bit of a pain but it doesn't answer the question as to why it has suddenly happened? Anyone else recently had this issue and I have just missed the post?

Brian

Your unlock had been actioned. It's very rare to take more than a few hours.

If you've changed the name of the computer, or if you've installed certain major Windows updates it can cause it, as it looks as though your computer's ID has changed.

Thank you, I didn't think it would take that long but read that Geoff was off busy so wasn't taking anything for granted.

Could changing from the name 'Surface' to 'Brian's Surface' cause the issue? That's all I have done so it doesn't get confused with my wife's. Oh well, again thanks for unlocking them

Yeah you've renamed the computer so that will cause the problem.

One single change shouldn't cause an identity crisis but Windows may have changed something else in tandem to appear like more than one change.

I'm around, just wasn't sure how much initially. Basically I've had to accompany my son to partial hospitalisation over an hour away from home for the last two weeks.
