Port Talbot and Hereford have just been released. These two simulations are available to purchase in the shop, Port Talbot is £25, and Hereford is £15, if you buy the joint package the price is £30.

Download via "Check for Updates"

At the same time updates have been released to most of the other Wales & Borders simulations, this was to tidy up one or two bits of chaining data required for the new sims, and to fix some minor outstanding bugs.

An eight way chain is now available

North East Wales
Shrewsbury
Hereford
Newport
Cardiff
Cardiff Valleys
Cardiff Vale of Glamorgan
Port Talbot

Which is plenty for a big multiplayer.

I noticed mention of West Wales in the sim manuals. Presumably that would be the final Welsh sim to do? I'm not overly familiar with the Welsh rail network but I can't think of anything else other than the cambrian (which is an exception as it doesn't have conventional signalling).

I shall look forward to having a run on Hereford tonight once the kids are asleep.

If you have a look in https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/49214 it has a preview of West Wales.

West Wales, and a Machynlleth SC simulation are all that is really left to do. Apart form a short section of Wales between North East Wales and a Chester simulation.

Is there any timeline on when, (if so), Newport will be chainable to Bristol?

Thanks,

Alex

Unfortunately not. It requires a simulation update to Bristol and quite a major one at that.

Harlech isn't on any simulation, neither is Ellesmere Port.

Colwyn Bay is on the North Wales Coast simulation.

I'm not sure Ellesmere port is in Wales being North of Chester but it wouldn't feature in any of them. It could potentially feature on a merseyrail sim as an extra or a sim covering the assorted Cheshire lines boxes into Birkenhead from Stockport.
