I've noticed a few trains that seem a bit short formed in the GHD 2009 timetable.
For example 5K00 which is a 170 2-Car that should be around 46m is 8m., I believe this a few others too that may need to be looked at.

I checked the data in my copy and it says 46m. Category 638E9465 if you want to look at the XML source.

This seems to only happen if it was chained with New St. I ran Wolves and checked as you two did and there correct. Unsure what makes them show 8m though. I had a train from New St enter at Dudley Port at 8m too.

When you seed trains on a short section you sometimes see truncations like that. Perhaps the entry TC on the second sim is set to a short length and the core code is truncating the train to fit the TC?

I have had a quick look at the 0445 timetable and what has not been taken into account is that the train 5K00 (2 car 170) is seeded into the CS and then has a detach (5A02, (2 car 170)), 5K00 has the correct stock type for 5K00 but no account seems to have been taken on the Detachment of 5A02, so 5K00 is seeded as a 2 car 170 when it needs to be seeded as a 4 car 170 so both 5K00 and 5A02 will both be the correct length.

Two separate issues in play then?

Being chained to New Street is irrelevant as in the 0445 start the train seeds in the Carraige Sidings and in the Midnight Start it seeds on 253 signal as 5K00. Which tiometable were you using? Can you attach it here please as it sounds as though something is incorrect in the version you have.

This one came from New Street. 5H00 04+41 Tyseley L.M.D. - Hednesford (LM 2/170+1/153) when it crossed over from NewSt to Wolves it was 8m but on NewStreet it was 69m..
I'm using the default GHD 2009 timetables provided with the sim and was in use yesterday with the midland chain here: https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/49298?postId=113656
I think HAP (Craig) might have auto-saves for the said trains at 8m. Timetable uploaded.

Noel the issue is is 5K00 in the 0445 version is seeded as a 2car 170 but then you have set a divide rear on 5K00 of a 2car 170 (5A02). both are 2 car 170's but as 5K00 is seeded as a 2 car 170 the sim is in effect divding 46m in 2.

The timetable is Wolverhampton 20091015 (0445 start).WTT (the current one on the server)

What has not been taken into account here is 5K00 is a 2 car 170 seeded at the CS but a divide has been added also a 2 car 170 but the seed has not had its stock type adjusted to take into account of the divide. when seeding trains if you add a divide you should add the additional stock to the seed to take into account of the divides.

One this one from what I can see is 5H00 enters BNS as a 2/170+2/153 stops at new street and Divides rear for 5G35 which should be a 1/153 according to the description but for some reason stock type is set at 2/170+1/153, therefore 5H00 wants 2/170+1/153 and 5G35 also wants 2/170+1/153, but 5H00 on entry to BNS only has a 2/170 and 2/153's to play with, and the mismatch in length will transfer between sims

Can this be logged on Mantis please?
