I don't think it is fixed, just tried it and while it did mark most as read, a very few were not. Seems completely random which ones remained. Went back 5 pages and estimated as a dozen or so.
Fixed - it was not updating threads already read recently; only those that had never been read (d'oh).
Yes, looks like it's doing what it says on the tin now.

On the Forum Index Page there is a section for Simulations which includes headings for Released and Timetables. Both of those headings list their sub-forums in what looks likely to have been an alphabetic listing in the first place but then with the most recent releases tacked on to the front of the list. It would help someone trying to track down something specific if the sub-forums could be listed alphabetically as a matter of course rather than becoming random as things are updated.

Currently requires manual intervention. Every sub-topic is given a number default 0 and to get it into the right order requires every topic after the insertion place to be renumbered - bit of a pain. However, I've just realised that you can use the same number more than once which gets the topic in approximately the right place, so I've done that pro-temp (only on the sims so far).

Do you have to use every number, or can you have gaps?

If you can have gaps, then number them 100, 200, 300, etc. Then you can use 50s, 25s, etc. to insert new ones without a mass renumbering. Much easier.

(Anyone else here ever programmed with punched cards?)

Geoff,

It has been discussed in TeamSpeak that it would be great to have a "Maybe" option for attending games. There is a 'problem' for hosts of people not signing up for games, and it is totally understandable as joining a game is seen as a commitment and people do not want to let the host down. I do the same myself!

It would be much better if people could mark themselves as "Maybe attending" or "Interested" so a host can gauge who has even an inclination to attend or is interested in the hosting setup and people would be more likely to do it as if their plans change at the last minute they are not letting anyone down.

Cheers

I do like the new front page, feels much more friendly for a new visitor.

One minor bug that I think might have crept in with the change, if you aren't logged in and try to view the Wiki (either User Manuals or FAQ) then you get a error message:

As a follow on from this, is there a way that after signing up tentatively, you can upgrade to a will be joining without first having to leave?

I will, when I've finished some other matters (remind me).

Would it be possible to add a wishlist feature on the store, so people can list the sims they're interested in purchasing?

Peter
For example, there are about 6 or so sims I'd be interested in purchasing but I can't afford them all right now. Therefore, when I'm looking to purchase in the future I can quickly get up a list of sims which I want to get. Granted, I could just make my own list on word but it might be a feature that others are interested in using?

I have created a wish list on my computer with an order of preference for purchase. Easy to do and can be viewed whenever I like. I doubt that anybody else would be interested in seeing it though.

Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate.

I can see a (marginal?) use case where a non-SimSig user might buy a license as a birthday gift that a wish list functionality might fulfil.

Prior to the release of Loader v5, the forum was relatively quiet. The way I prefer to read the forum is to click on the new (red-flagged) topics in the box headed Forum on the left margin. This has the benefit of taking me to the end of the thread. If I click on the main forum listing, this takes me to the start of the thread. In some cases, as for example the listing of RAIB reports, this would involve paging through endless (20?) pages to get to the end.

Now, after the coming of Loader v5, the forum is so much busier, and the list of red-flagged topics to read well outruns the capacity of the left-hand column.

Could the left-hand column be made longer, or without bottom, so that I could always click on unread topics, and land at the end of the thread?
