Trains do not reverse into the headshunt. We go into NO.1 siding stop at signal MN25, allow what ever needs to pass and wait for time, then proceed onto the single line and turn back on the single line.
As discussed above, it's not possible to timetable trains to stop at that location, and Mantis 24965 has been raised to add this.

For the benefit of the two original posters, the latest NEScot update includes the TT location 'Montrose Through Siding (MN21/25), which will allow the ECS moves discussed to be simulated correctly.

But my main concerns at the moment are th define the correct working classes. Wich train is a Cl158, wich Cl170, wich is a Inter7city and so on. But maybe you can help me Craig.
The good news is that Scot Rail is now publishing unit allocations via Real Time Trains. Unit numbers are added late evening/very early morning for the day's services, and are retained for 7 days. Numbers are also updated each hour in the event of cancellations/unit swaps.

Unfortunately, this won't help you for a typical day at the moment, given the global situation.
