As we get closer to July there will no doubt be the usual speculation, guessing and misdirection about the sims that may (or may not) be used at the Derby meet. Please try and confine posts of that nature to this thread.

I'm going with Yeovil/West of England, East London Line and Ashford (including HS1) as the sims at the meet itself with Sandhills and Preston being released shortly after. Might well be wrong but we see, never been a betting person. Log in to reply |

I'd actually like an existing sim chain for a change. Maybe Derby Saltley and New street.

With the impending advent of Sheffield and West Yorkshire (nice big sims: I think I might soon need to go from 2 screens to 3 when I get space?) I wonder if we might see Doncaster, which a few forthcoming (at the time of writing) or existing sims would chain to (Sheffield @ Hexthorpe Jcn, West Yorkshire @ Haywood Junction, Peterborough, York, South Humberside (@ Bessacar Jcn & Crowle Thorne Jcn, with update) and Leeds Ardesley @ Adwick Jcn) or Colchester or Penzance. Probably all wishful thinking though so I will be happy with whatever comes along though. In the meantime I can give it some more thought and speculate further. Dave Log in to reply |

The sims I'm thinking for this meet could be Doncaster Sim, but I would to see Bescot Yard I think thats Walsall? but Eastleigh would be nice with all them freights.. Then Winsford SB near Crewe could an idea, one half lever frame & other half NX panel and may visits to there..

What about the Blackpool lines as one sim which could chain to Preston OR how about Glasgow Central to chain with Motherwell and Paisley?

Blackpool Pre-May 2018 changes with the 5 signal boxs would bring back memories for me although I don't hold info, only info I have is Post-May 2018 Electrification that could be ideal for SimSigs use but was again told it wasn't needed. Would love to see the Glasgow suburbs in, but I am sure I read it could not be done. Also any news on Edinburgh update and going onto loader? anyway thanks to all for your hard work, I am a huge fan.

No idea if that has changed with the Post-May 2018 changes or not unless anyone can confirm? Other sims/updates that could be possible: Liverpool Street to Shenfield/Colchester (We already have the West Anglia lines as far as Elsenham so maybe time for the GE to shine?) Bristol to make the move to Loader and updated to work with Newport? Lincoln SCC which signals the majority of the GN/GE Joint Line and would chain with Peterborough, Doncaster and I think Trent? Woking/Basingstoke/Eastleigh which would chain with both Salisbury, Portsmouth and Wimbledon? Lancing to be re-released but extended to Rowlands Castle/Havant? Portsmouth to be released to extend to Rowlands Castle and Fareham? And as it's a line I recently travelled on and one what would chain with both Rugby South and West Hampstead, there's Marston Vale SCC? Log in to reply |
