I'm playing the Exeter 4-day September 2014 v.1 timetable and enjoying it immensely.

Just as a matter of interest, why are some Down trains routed via Newton Abbot platform 3 when the logical choice would appear to be platform 2, through which the majority are routed?
I presume this happens in real life for some reason?

The exit to the station is on platform 3 saves people walking over the bridge.
"Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer

Understandable, as it appears to be either very early or late when it's not busy.

Thanks for the info.

Early morning / late night cuts down on number of station staff needed to despatch trains, plus save on electricity as well after dark If the lifts fail and they have a mobility restricted passenger they would also divert to P3
Passed the age to be doing 'Spoon Feeding' !!!

Nice to see that they are actually doing something to benefit the travelling public.
