ARS giving precedence to empty electric trains? 01/06/2019 at 19:02 #118622 | |

I know that the manual states that "ARS is not good at handling trains that conflict with other trains that haven't yet entered", but having played the sim till 11:06 sim time it seems that the ARS acts sort of weirdly even regarding certain trains already in the sim. The ARS seems to have a tendency to give precedence to "Empty electric train" (with TD beginning with "T"even if it's way before their booked departure time. I wonder if this is correct? I tried to log some of the weirdness but I forgot to make snapshots for most of them and I didn't log the situation in detail. Here's what I have logged: 1. At around 09:08 when T818 is at Tai Po Market platform 2/3 departing at 09:11:25. L140, which should've departed at 09:05:34, is still waiting at the platform and the ARS routesetting status says its giving priority to T818. Same for M142 (departing at 09:09:14). 2. T820 goes from Lo Wu platform 1 to siding G2S departing at 09:31:090 and arriving at 09:33:00, then transposes into T830 departing at 10:29:00. M166 and subsequent trains just get held at sig. 2502 and ARS routesetting status says "giving priority to T820". I got 3 consecutive trains with this condition that I had to make T820 non-ARS to stop it from happening. Later happens again with the train after that (T828) 3. At 11:06, L210 from the Lok Ma Chau is held at sig. 2406 and ARS states giving priority to P704. P704 is held at sig. 2412 (I messed up and let it delay for so long) and ARS states giving priority to T834. T834 is at Lok Ma Chau station not even close to its departure time. This seems pretty much like a deadlock. I have a snapshot of this situation attached for reference. Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |

It is a known ARS bug. To over come it, make all T8xx trains running back to there depot NON-ARS at there starting location. PS could a Mod please move these posts to there correct location?
