If you mean how do you identify signal numbers on the panel. Hit F3 and under control ensure "right click cancels route" is unticked. Then right click on a signal and the popup box will show the signal number on the first row. If you mean how do you seed a train then under the entry location drop down on the F4 timetable editor menu, you need to tick the seed box and then the location drop down will display all the available signals that can be seeded from. Or if you prefer to run by default with "right click cancels route" checked, shift + right-click on the signal displays the signal number. It is explained on this page of the Wiki but the explanation is not immediately obvious. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply The following user said thank you: braders_97 |

Every (I believe) simulation manual comes with a signal number plan. Here's the one for Birmingham New Street (2001 layout) for example: https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Media/Wiki/%2Fusertrack%2Fsims%2Fnew_street%2Fnew-street-2001_-signal-number-plan-pdf.pdf So you can use that too. Only Salisbury and I think Euston exe maybe (never played it, but I seem to remember something about it) have the option of showing the signal numbers in the sim itself on the diagram. I gather the reason for all sims not showing them is clutter. I'm sure it must be difficult to find room for them - just look at a few signal number plans to see for yourself - and when I played Salisbury, I found that the diagram is very busy with them turned on. Of course in a real signal box you do have the option of showing them on the diagram itself, but most SimSig-ers don't have the luxury of half a dozen screens, so the SimSig version of any diagram tends to want to be much tighter and more compressed, being based on the IECC overview style of diagram, rather than the detail diagram. It is, however, I think, something missing from SimSig. I know this isn't the place for a feature request, but I definitely think a points number plan or the ability to bring up a similar drop down menu for points would be very handy indeed. Trying to read a manual which refers to point numbers and work out which points are which from the incident control panel isn't ideal. You can use the F11 incident control panel to fail points by ID which would then be reasonably easy to find on the screen (flashing) . I agree it's not ideal though.
