Running the latest 1984 TT (excellent TT by the way), 8T77 (Newton - Mossend tripper) was wrongly routed at Mossend South Jn M359 Sig (left the auto button on) towards Mossend West Jn instead of towards Mossend Yard. Driver didn't query the route.

And another one. 8T47 Motherwell - Hamilton Sdgs tripper didn't query the route at M223 Sig with route set (Auto button left on again) along the Down Hamilton instead of into Birdsfield Sdgs.

Glad you like the timetable. The question has come up a few times, and there are so many possible routes around Mossend that it was not sensible to code against wrong routes in the area. Surprised at Birdsfield though. Quite a few of them would be legitimate anyway (Carlisle - Glasgow via Mossend E - Hamilton - Cathcart). Happens in real life too, was on a 390 that took the Shotts line at Holytown pre-electrification ! Fortunately the pan was still on the live and we could reverse out and have another go. I do recall after posting about units not querying wrong routes at Newton some time ago (2K's taking routes to Blantyre and 2J's taking routes to Uddingston) that there was no coding for wrong routes but I took that to just mean at Newton. I was surprised at a train for Mossend taking the route to Bellshill though. You may have guessed from my comments regarding leaving the auto's on that I'm running Motherwell without ARS (my preferred method with all sims that do have ARS, except maybe for some of the London terminal sims). Your 1984 TT certainly tests the limits of how much traffic you can cope with without electronic help, or without slowing the sim down (which I haven't), but I'm just about keeping things fluid (until I leave an auto button on for one train too many that is!). Thanks again for a great heritage TT, which makes you realise just how busy the railways in the area were when Ravenscraig was still open. Phil.
