Currently in the loader there are two states that appear identical: "Haven't finished talking to the update server yet" and "No updates to install". This creates user confusion. I'd suggest greying out/disabling the "Check for Updates" button once it's been determined that there are no updates to install, and perhaps changing the label to "Up to Date" or something instead. Or perhaps best of all just hide the button entirely if there are no updates.
