Signal 92 failed on the up main fast with only the red aspect displaying properly, so I locked points 613 and 612 normal and authorised a train (2B12) past it at danger. Unfortunately, however, it appears to be stuck displaying "At buffer stops" in the train list. See the attached save.

"At buffer stops" is displayed when there is no valid track ahead of the train. While this should only happen at the end of the track, it's possible that the sub-route along the next track circuit is missing which would produce the same message. In theory this can't happen but there may be a sim bug. When I get a moment I'll look at the saved game to find out more. Log in to reply |

2B12 is sitting on UHLAZ, UHMBC, and UHNAB, from front to back. That name "UHLAZ" tells me that something weird is going on with that track circuit. I don't have the sim sources to hand, so can't comment further. What happens if you set the route from 92 to 82 with the train there? That might get the track circuit out of its strange state. You may need to key the points to their opposite position first. Log in to reply |

I fixed it by reversing the train back off the track circuit, setting the route, and then sending the train forward again. At a wild guess I imagine it's probably something weird to do with the half-routes to the Windsor side? Log in to reply |
