PEOPLE OF SIMSIG!!!!!!!!!! All times in this post are in UTC Following on from the cancellation of the Peterborough meet, we are now in a position to announce the alternative arrangements the SimSig team have made. Commencing 22:00 on the 27/03/2020 we will set off on a 24 hour "mega chain" session, running just ahead of 1:1 sim speed to allow us some time to take breaks as the session goes on. Sims in use: Wembley Main Line Watford Junction Rugby South Rugby Central Coventry Birmingham NS Aston Saltley Wolverhampton How to sign up We have split the session down into two hour chunks available in the upcoming games window, please use these to sign up for the times at which you can commit to the full two hours. This will allows us to staff the sims as appropriate. In Game Communication Will mainly be via TeamSpeak, you don't need access to a microphone, or to speakers, but both of these would help if you have them. In game communication by F10 will be used as a last resort. Panel Allocations We will issue a spreadsheeet of panel allocations prior to the start of the session, which will be updated as we continue. Hosts We have made special arrangements to provide continuous hosting throughout the period. We don't at the moment need any further volunteers. I was signed up to the original meet If you had signed up to the original meet, we can make arrangements to provide you a license for relevant sims for 24 hours only. If you need to make use of this please contact me via PM. The Roster Can be viewed at the link below. Along with connection details etc. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_X7uAb0bOvLcp1hT1sXjis50m0oD_2oTrebBDAdLMts/edit?usp=sharing "Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer Last edited: 27/03/2020 at 15:25 by headshot119 Reason: None given Log in to reply The following users said thank you: agilchrist, JamesN, Meld, DaveHarries, tjfrancis, belly buster, postal, HST125Scorton, y10g9, Trainfan344, nroberts, as1981, TimTamToe, JWNoctis, whatlep, Hap, whitetigger, ajax103, percygn |

Sounds like a fun session - I'll definitely be along. Is there a particular reason why only those signed up before the arbitrary cancellation date will be afforded the benefit of one-day licenses? Log in to reply |

Presumably because anyone who was going to the meet has missed out on that, whereas anyone who was never going to has not. There are seven workstations available free of charge to all participants on Saltley and Aston if you don’t want to buy a licence. Big shout out to the boys who are giving up a lot of their time to make this happen as some sort of recompense for the cancellation of the Peterborough meet.

As I mentioned previously I will only be able to communicate with F10 Messages within this 24hr period session. This is because my PC is in the living room so will be disturbing etc. But many thanks to those behind the scenes planning all this, I should be available pretty much all the time. That makes it so much easier for everybody else, not to mention that in F10 you are only going to be communicating with those in the same sim. There is also nothing stopping you from listening to everyone else on Teamspeak if you have a headset, even if you can't talk due to your environment. Sorry guys, I am in the business of making people wait! Log in to reply The following user said thank you: agilchrist |

It was an idea to garner a bit of extra interest in the virtul meet, including those that, for whatever reason, couldn't attend Peterborough on that particular date. But if there's no appetite for it then so be it. Log in to reply |

Right we've had lots and lots of people sign up, which is really good to see. We are looking thin between 00:00 - 06:30 GMT (Day time in Australia, Evening American time), if anyone in these times zones can sign up to a session that would be most appreciated. If anyone else wants to join in the fun there are still plenty of spaces available through the day, just sign up to any session that you can join. Is there any issues with signing up on the day a few hours before the two-hour slot?

Where possible if people can commit before hand that's great, and we'd encourage it to help us balance out panels. If people can't until the day, we're not going to turn anyone away "Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer Log in to reply |

I've signed up for the 1045 Saturday GMT slot though could work around that if theres slots that really need filling? How does the allocations work so I know what sim I am allocated? If I'm allocated to Rugby South I wouldn't have time to buy the sim. I have Wembley and Watford though. Many thanks to all involved in arranging this fantastic event :) James. Log in to reply |

A roster showing panel allocations is now available in the first post. This was updated with everyone who had signed up, up to 1300 today. Apologies if there's any slight typos in the usernames. Ok, so I have other Sims but know Rugby Sth & Cent best. Which times do you most need for those and I will sign up I did look at roster but wasn't sure whether if its greyed out means not required and just the white boxes that are available Log in to reply |

White boxes are the shifts that are available, Grey boxes are for where we are able to either double up on the panels (like the Euston signaller can also control Camden, New Street South 1 can also control South 2) or where we can leave the ARS with the host monitoring the phone. The aim would be to fill the white boxes, however if you only have Sims that have Grey boxes, then I'm sure you'll be offered that
