Train follows onto single line without token 03/04/2020 at 19:01 #125353 | |

I've always known there's something not quite right about the token working on the Treforest branch. In the past under stress conditions (i.e. trying to recover after a lot of disruption) I've even had trains heading towards each other. I decided to revisit today, and the problem is easily reproducible. Just start a sim and leave it running until a couple of trains should have entered at Treforest sidings. Grant the token to Ystrad Rhondda and work the groundframe to allow the first train out. The second train will follow it into Treforest Station even if the ground frame has been locked after the first. It will then follow the first train along the single line. There seems to be general problem (in the core?) in which some trains can piggyback through a cleared signal; ISTR that it happens at New Street with the mid-platform signals. Same problem? There's an open core code ticket on Mantis for two trains following each other through a clear signal. Not something I can fix in the sim data unfortunately.

I suspected as much. The single line parts of this sim seem to be affected more than the others because once a train decides to play follow my leader it will pass points set against it and will enter a single line without a token. That doesn't mean it isn't the same problem, though. Log in to reply |
