When a hyperlink is inserted into a Forum posting the text displays in a low key green colour rather than the normal text colour. The colour is not distinctive and gets lost in the general green mood of the Forum display. Would it be possible to display a hyperlink in a colour other than green (or use a more distinctive green) so that the hyperlink stands out a bit more? “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 07/04/2020 at 13:35 by postal Reason: None given Log in to reply |

I suggested red. It’s fairly easy to miss the hyperlink as you say. Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate. Log in to reply |

Apologies. Missed the fact that you had already floated the idea.

Whilst on the subject of hyperlinks, it would be nice if they forced a new tab rather than opening in the current tab.

On Firefox, pressing down on the mouse wheel (instead of a normal left click) will open any link in a new tab. I think that applies on other browsers as well, but I'm not sure- have a quick google for what your browser supports. Deleted by Postal. Not relevant to Forum design.

How quaint! Just a pain when you forget you are not in a different tab and shut it down rather than going back a page to get back to where you were, but thanks for the explanation.

In general it's a rude thing for a web site to do: whether the user wants the same tab (they're following the link) or another tab (this is a side-matter and they still want the original page) is up to them. Therefore leave the user to decide. Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Hawk777 |

Ctrl-click (PC) or cmd-click (MacOS) also opens in a new tab.
