Bit of a long shot but.

Old Oak Common PSB was one of the great Great Western power boxes. It was great But not great enough to photograph it seems! :P

Despite being a huge box which controlled no less a station than Paddington for over a quarter of a century, I haven't been able to find out that much about it. The always wonderful s-r-s archives do have quite a few relevant signalling notices (https://www.s-r-s.org.uk/archivesignals/brwr.php#london) but sadly the one I really want isn't available to download, and I'm not sure an in-person visit to the archives is gonna be on the cards for a while.

Above all, I'd be most interested to know where the boundary was between Old Oak Common PSB (when it was still going) and Slough PSB. I think Old Oak Common's last signals would have been the ones at the end of the platforms at Hayes & Harlington station, but I've not been able to confirm that. In the days before Airport Junction and the Airport lines, automatic signals DM11 and DR11 followed and I suspect they would have been Slough's, In the days of Slough New IECC however, it appears DM11 became/was replaced by SN305, while on the Relief lines you've got SN303 and SN307.

Can anyone help me out with any more details? I've been scraping the bottom of every barrel trying to find out the numbers of those signals at the end of the platforms at Hayes & Harlington station. I think the one on the Down Relief was OO158, making it a fairly safe bet the one on the Down Main was OO58, but try as I might, I cannot find a picture. Apparently Hayes & Harlington station wasn't a photographer's hotspot in the 80s and early 90s.

There weren’t exactly equivalent signals as it all got re-spaced. Old Oak’s last signals were the platform starters at Hayes - OO58/158/258, with DM11/DR11 being Slough signals. On the Up the boundary was effectively the same, with OO101 being broadly where SN310 is now, and an Auto equivalent (UM12?) on the Up Main (Stockley Junction didn’t exist, you had a slower ladder at West Drayton East instead).

Drop me a PM I may be able to send you some more stuff once I’m off nights in a few days

I edited my post to add in the last bit.

I’ve done a lot of research into Old Oak Panel my self, for various bits and pieces.

I think it was UM12 yes.
