Hi guys, was wondering if you could help me with chaining Bristol and Westbury together as when i do, I can't set signal 121 to DT5 on the Westbury Simulation. I'm unsure whether a train can pass on this link as i haven't had a train go over the boundary yet. When i chain the simulations together i get a message saying "Chaining arrangements inconsistent". I'm running the latest versions of both sims and Bristol is running as the "Modern layout". Is there anyway to fix this?

I've not chained Bristol/Westbury in a while but from memory they should chain OK despite the error message (likely due to Bristol still being an old build of the sim.) Others who have more experience hosting these sims may know better. Re. 121->DT5, make sure you click on Stopping or Non-Stopping for the crossing at Bradford-on-Avon. This may be where you are going wrong. Planotransitophobic! Log in to reply |

The Stopping and Non stopping buttons apply to signal 186. The route can be set if Bristol isn't chained. So as you said its probably because of the different ages of the boxes

Bristol is a very old simulation, and hasn't been updated for around a decade. Hence, it won't chain properly to Westbury. After a quick test, it's possible to transfer trains between simulations (authorising them to pass 121 on Westbury), but that's about it. TDs don't transfer. I've no idea if timetables will step correctly, either, or if anything else could break it. I would advise against running a chain with the two simulations.
