Using the default 2009 timetable with seeding and ARS, trains entering Victoria Central from the Brighton lines run at 7 mph all the way from the last signal to the buffer stops where the speed limit is to be 20 mph. This takes a lot of time and causes all sorts of delays, which seemed to spiral out of control into nearly every block along the Brighton lines being full of trains. Save available if wanted.

There was a missing lower limit in the Defensive Driving rules for a train passing a single yellow which causes this. It has been fixed for a future update.

So it is then correct to assume that I should just wait until the update is released and just go with it as well as I can until it drops? Or is there anything I can do about the missing lower limit myself?

You can edit the defensive driving rules yourself. https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Wiki/Show?page=usertrack:ttuse:defensive_driving_rules Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Rocangus |

More specifically, press F4 to go in to the Timetable Editor. Go to the Driving tab. Select Passenger (or whichever category you're editing) and Edit. Click the Asp=Y rule and Edit. Enter a minimum speed to which that rule applies - there is no hard and fast rule, but perhaps around 30 (mph). Repeat for any other rules that need it. Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Thank you, Stephen and GeoffM, for your advice and instructions; it only took me about 10 minutes to figure out something that seems to make all the difference needed!

I thought this seemed familiar, I have just tested on my 1982 wtt and I have a 6Y98 which goes from platform 15 to Stewarts Lane. The wtt has no defensive driving rules. The train characteristics are max speed 15, normal weight, standard freight acceleration and braking. The driver has been given green aspects out of Victoria up the bank, and it appears that only once the train passes VC 541 at Battersea Pier Junction that the train shows as going faster than 8 mph. Loader version 5.6, sim version 1.9, wtt version 1.2. Screen shots and save attached Paul Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Might be the gradient coming out of Victoria?

Could well be, although I recall the platforms being level so would have expected the speed to increase before passing the platform signal. Paul You have to get a red before you can get any other colour Log in to reply |

I've tried the save file and the train does manage to reach 13 mph before being hitting the gradient and slowing down again.
