You'll need to expand on that. Once CLST enters the run-round, set the route back into the yard and it'll move back within a minute or two.

On my previous runs I had the CLST enter the Run Round, there it remained and as a result blocked everything thereafter

Once the CLST has been F935 will not change
I am now on my fifth attempt

Per the timetable you've posted, the train just shunts onto the run round line, reverses, and goes back to Upperby Yard

That makes sense, if a little odd!
On my previous two attempts the only route I could set was the Run Round
However this then remained occupied
Further to Steamer's answer, there is a long track-circuited section before you reach CE271 on the Run Round line. This will remain red-filled until the loco is behind CE271. This takes a while at 8mph. but the fill eventually dies when the pilot is behind CE271 and you can signal it back to Upperby Yard.

The Carlisle TT have been written a little differently to most TTs as the sim configuration requires the entry point as the first location in the train TT for a lot of the entry points. This may be helping to confuse matters.

Perhaps you might find it easier refreshing your skills on something like Royston rather than a full-blown horror story like the 79-80 Carlisle TT.

If you work to the TT and allow the time for moves to complete there is no problem with this move. If you go to the F2 screen (or left click on the TD to show the TT), you can see whether the loco is still moving. The advantage of the F2 screen is that it updates so that you can see when the loco has come to a stop at its reversing location.

I am concentrating solely on Upperby Yard, the rest of Carlisle works fine
Equally, until last month I was running Central Scotland or Edinburgh (Windows XP version)
These do not have ground frames

I appear to have misunderstood the instructions, working now

Do you by any chance mean the through goods line? If you route the CLST there by mistake it won't reverse by itself.

No, the Run Round
I (incorrectly) assumed the stock was added to another train later
I had not considered it was simply wanting to access the route, then return back to the yard

I haven't got CScot open at the moment, but Edinburgh has 21 Ground Frames. In fairness they operate differently to the Ground Frames in the Carlisle sim which are a bespoke single lever operation only found on that sim.

Very basic in the Windows XP version
Equally, hardly used in some of the timetables

Hence why I have been practicing with Carlisle Upperby Yard

if you do decide to upgrade to the paid version of Edinburgh there's more timetables available, and I can assure you that both 1993 and the (upcoming) 1984 do use the ground frames.

Wow, I went all the way from start to 06:45 with just two minor mistakes
Yet again, Upperby Yard was the downfall, as I knew it would be
However, this time I learned and applied the Reverse Direction instruction
I accidently put the CLST in the Up Through instead of Run Round, however I was following the Simplifier timetable so something must have sneeked past me!
