I wanted to broach a suggestion to the membership at large before submitting through official channels.

I was thinking the other day, save for posting in the shoutbox and hoping for a reply or joining game and being turned away; there's no at-a-glance way of telling whether a multiplayer game is for example full, or closing soon.

Would there be an appetite for two new game statuses - "Started - Full" and "Started - Closing Soon".

Obviously the onus would still be on the hosts to keep it up to date, but we have some very good hosts these days who I'm sure are capable of the extra clicks. It would save the disappointment of seeing a game is running, unable to raise the players on shoutbox to ask whether it's full or not so joining and finding it's full, or closing in 15 minutes.

+1 from me on this.

Possibly as an extension, "Open - panels Free" should the host wish to actively update the status, leaving "open" for those who don't want to provide updates.

Would be even cooler if the loader could interface with the website, keeping it up to date automatically, if it sees that the host's logged in user has an active game.

Really good idea. I often feel bad when people join my games only to be told that its finishing soon etc, so I definitely am on board with this.

Possibly a simple time box in the game details to indicate expected closure time?

I try to mark my games as finished on here, when it's getting to that time when new connections would be futile as we're in the last 10-20 minutes.

But a flaggable status of "full" / "panels free" is definitely a good idea.

yeah I agree, I think a new field on the game box for the scheduled finish is a good shout as often in my mega-chains, I forget to update the shoutbox & website as I'm bogged down in the game itself, so being able to say an end time beforehand would be super useful
