Borderline 80s, but Carlisle 1979/80 is brilliant. Kingmoor yard is about as busy as it gets with freight, plus there's all the local trip workings. Motherwell 1984 is also great with all the interregional freight, mixed in with local traffic for the steelworks and Mossend yard. Exeter has a few 70s/80s timetables, those are good fun too. Although mostly passenger, not as much freight as Motherwell and Carlisle. West Hampstead also has a 91 timetable which, like Exeter, is mostly passenger. If you are more interested in freight workings then I'd say my West Yoekshire 1991 TT is about as good as it gets or my York north/south 1991 TT, both of which are very busy. But the West Yorkshire 1991 TT has alot more freight traffic than passenger.

I'd say you can't go wrong with Pascal's 79-80 tt for Carlisle... Actually perhaps I should reword that as Pascal's 79-80 tt for Carlisle is great and will keep you on your toes - and you can go wrong if you lose concentration - but that's all the more enjoyable right? Sorting out the cock-ups you create yourself or that just me

It needs 3 of us in multiplayer mode to test it. Playing it on your own is more challenging than Carlisle due to the small area you cover, but exetremly intensive especially throughout the night with all the mail, parcels & postal shunts & during the day engines changes make it difficult too as well as run rounds etc. With over 1260 trains now in the TTyou wouldn't be waiting long for something to happen. Personally I've decline to play thiss TT on my own, the signalling around New Street too complex for me. Although some of the testing team have played all the way through it on their own & on a laptop which is more challenging! Log in to reply |
