In the 2009 timetable, 3J92 (DBS Cl66+2 FEA+Cl66) entered from Wellingborough, travelled to Kentish Town, reversed direction and headed back to Bedford, then repeated the to-ing and fro-ing, before finally heading back to Wellingborough. I’d be interested to know why it does this? I know that FEA means ‘Finite Element Analysis’ because I have a list of Railway Terms, but what does this actually mean? Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate. Log in to reply |

FEA is a TOPS wagon code. F = intermodal flat, E = general letter to differentiate wagons A = air braked. So FEA, FXA, FYA etc are all various types of intermodal flat. That train is a sandite/RHTT with the tanks mounted on the flat wagons. It shuttles in order to treat all the running lines "We don't stop camborne wednesdays" Log in to reply The following users said thank you: TUT, bugsy |
