So, Given the similarity of London Bridge ASC & London Bridge Mini, I'm considering starting to create a tool or suite of tools to convert a timetable made for the ASC to function on the Mini, making it easier for timetablers to create timetables for both the ASC and Mini variants of London Bridge. My proposed methodology would be as below, either as individual or joined together tools, programs or scripts Run against SavedTimetable.XML -Identify timetable that doesn't enter the Mini area (look at the entry point and each trip location comparing against a list of know Mini locations), flag as appropriate -For up services that enter the Mini area, work out and entry point, flag entry point -For down services that enter the Mini area, work out exit point/last trip location, flag exit point -Identify edge case timetable entries from ASC Panel 9 to ASC Panel 3, then exit again from ASC panel 3 to ASC panel 9, flag entry as appropriate -Give User review/reports for above -Create working version to not destroy existing xml -Process changes - Remove off-Mini Timetable, Truncate off-Mini trips from timetable that enter Mini Area, set entry / exit point for truncated timetable An alternative would be to process each timetable completely one at a time, without user interaction, saving processor time, but at the potential cost of not giving user feedback. In order to do this I will need to find out: -What the entry points names are for each sim (done using attached TTs) -Name of each trip locations on each Sim, -Identify which locations are mutual between the two & any differences in mandatory routing locations and spellings -Identify time between previous location point on ASC and entry points on Mini (164, 166 & three P9/P3 links) -Identify time between previous location point and Mini exit points To save myself having to do the research myself, I'm asking if anyone in the community happens to already hold the information for the trip location points and which are the exit locations on the Mini sim. I also welcome comment or critique on the proposed method, and a heads up from the Devs if this is something already in the pipeline such I can avoid wasted effort. It is also not a promise that this will come to fruition or in a timely fashion as I do work full time with computers and want to maintain my balance of time spent in front of screens and away from them. -RW Post has attachments. Possibly you could take the source WTT file (XML) and apply a transformation into a form suitable for XML import inside SimSig. That would also sort out your entry points. But I'm not sure what is less work - the transformation above, or your ideas. SimSig Boss Log in to reply The following user said thank you: rfw |
