Curzon Street to Proof House Junction 28/02/2022 at 12:53 #145449

In my 1985 timetable, it shows trains that arrive to Curzon street via Grand Jn and then depart towards Proof House junction and BNS but I cannot see how this movement is made on the sim, which shows only a east/northbound exit from Curzon street towards Bescot direction.

Does anyone know about these workings? Did they involve rrunning-round or propelling?

Thanks

They'd go via Perry Barr South Jn - Perry Barr Wes Jn - Soho East Jn & Soho North Jn.

Prior to the sim date there was a connection from Curzon St to Grand Junction and the Stechford line. May have been propel into Exchange Carriage sidings (also not on sim).

Although 1918, you get the idea here:

Assume it was the original 1838-1854 route for Euston - Curzon St before New St was built

When did this link line (and sidings) cease use ?

I wondered about that although the 10 minutes in the timetable seems tight for that route and would require RR at Birmingham New Street.

Also, the Up trains are listed as Curzon St => Grand Junction (GL) => Stechford, so I wondered if there was a line missing from the simulation. On the historical maps, it looks like there might have been a line from Curzon directly onto the Up Grand Junction at Aston.
