Rugby league world cup final in Manchester that day isn't it ?
Day after.
Factually accurate but I should think it doesn't really affect the situation regarding hotel bookings.
Please excuse my error. It is not factually accurate. The 2021 Rugby League World Cup Final between Australia and Samoa will take place at Old Trafford at 16:00 on Saturday 19th. November 2022 (tournament held over from 2021 due to Covid restrictions). See https://www.rlwc2021.com/preview/65.
It is correct if you manage to use a website that gives it in local time for Australia/Samoa. My bad for not noticing it being in AEDT.

Glad we've ended up in the same place, anyway. See you Saturday?

Finally been able to get Avanti tickets for next Saturday.

See you in Manchester!
ME too. Costing an arm and a leg too

Depends what source you use for the fare: what station are you coming from?

I looked up trains and found I couldn't get one for less than £80 return from Bristol TM so I am driving most of the way, probably to Altrincham, and getting a Manchester Metrolink for the rest of the way in. Less hassle about parking too as I have never been to central Manchester: the nearest I normally get is my employer's HQ which is about ¼ mile from Northenden Junction.

Dave
Euston, costing almost £100, even in advance. Looks like Avanti have removed advance fares. It used to be £50 advance and £88 on the day.

Between the disruption due to WCML upgrades and the Engineers & Firemen strike, looks like I’ll be coming up in the car!

A couple of people have mentioned driving up, if you're wanting to park at Altrincham you may want to consider Navigation Road and nearby Timperley tram stops as the parking generally has better availability.

We have a number of people who've committed to bringing laptops, but remember the more the merrier in terms of running simulations, so if anyone hasn't put down to bring one, but wants to, feel free!

Hope to see you all at the weekend.

Jumping on the back of this, if you're M60 south, Sale Water Park has a massive car park.

I'm new to the scene so didn't know that we needed to express that we're bringing laptops. I've got my macbook that i've got SimSig running on, just wanted to know that if we're running a LAN, will I need to tie the sims to my machine before the event or will we have a WAN connection so that we can connect to the authentication server?

The meet network doesn't have internet access.

Going to be a short visit from me - starting work at 1400 so I’ll have to be gone by then unfortunately but at least I’ll be able to see what the sims are and hopefully have a quick go!
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

We'll definitely post some screenshots. Depending on beverage consumption it'll be tonight or tomorrow.

Echoed by others, thank you all for an amazing meet. So good to meet likeminded people to enjoy beverages and signalling. Lovely welcome as a first timer too. Looking forward to the sims being released!

Had a fantastic day. I’d just like to say thanks to the amazing hosts for what they have done to make this happen. It was both an honour and a pleasure to meet you and share some laughs. Honestly can’t wait for the next meet. Back in London and nearly home. (My bed is waiting)
