I have now uploaded Woking SX 2003, the link is here: https://www.SimSig.co.uk/File/Details/2855

This timetable is intended to represent a nondescript Tuesday in the period from October - December 2003, as the slam-door units were beginning to be phased out on the South Western, with the imminent arrival of the class 450s. Whilst the 450s did enter service during the period of this timetable, the stock diagrams I have do not reflect this, and as such no services are formed of class 450s, except for two stock moves.

Slamdoor units are the main order in this timetable, with 4CIG (class 421) and 4VEP (class 423) doing the heavy lifting. The class 442s are also in full swing on Weymouth/Poole/Bournemouth/Southampton services, as well as the occasional Portsmouth service. Class 455s cover the majority of work on the Hampton Court, Guildford, and Woking (stopping) lines, and class 458s cover Ascot-Guildford and some Staines-Weybridge services. A handful of 4CEP (class 411) units are also still in circulation, and can be found on peak-time services to Basingstoke and Alton. The class 159 and 170 units cover the diesel work on the West of England route. Class 170 (but not when coupled to 159s) and 442 units are permitted to run at the higher speed limit of 100mph on the up fast only between Farnborough and Byfleet.

Power door trains have longer dwells to mimic the guard having to close/release the doors, whilst 4VEPs have shorter dwell times than all other stock due to them having one door per bay of ten seats!

Timings are taken from sections WG, WH and WK (West) of the Working Timetable; with stock diagrams being those used by South West Trains as of October 2003.

This timetable is set before SWT's 2004 recast of services, and thus the service patterns are vastly different from today. Crossovers at Hampton Court Jn and Brookwood in particular see a lot of use. Be sure to pay close attention to stopping patterns, particularly in the peaks, as a service which may have been semi-fast in the previous hour may now be all stations!

The train descriptions contain the Southern region headcode for all trains except the Alphaline class 158s to Wales. This is as would have been displayed on the front of the train, and as they appear in the Working Timetable.

General off-peak service pattern:
-2tph Hampton Court
-2tph Guildford New Line (Cobham)
-2tph Woking stopper
-2tph Alton, of which
--1tph fast to West Byfleet, Woking, Ash Vale then all stations
--1tph fast to Woking, then all stations to Alton
Some of these may terminate at Farnham, and not all call at Bentley.
-2tph Basingstoke semi-fast, calling at Surbiton, Woking then all stations
-4tph towards Haslemere, of which
--2tph to Portsmouth, fast
--1tph to Portsmouth, slow
--1tph to Haslemere, slow, also calling at Worplesdon.
All of these are fast to Woking except for one or two peak extras.
-2tph to Salisbury, some of which continue to Gillingham/Yeovil/Exeter, or places as far afield as Paignton and Plymouth
-4tph towards Eastleigh, of which
--2tph Bournemouth/Poole/Weymouth fast, one of which doesn't call at Woking
--1tph Southampton semi-fast, calling at Woking then Farnborough
--1tph Portsmouth via Eastleigh, fast to Basingstoke
Not from London, there are also 2tph Ascot-Guildford, reversing at Aldershot. Some off-peak trains from Guidford continue to Farnham and go into the depot rather than continuing to Ascot.
Only the Hampton Court trains serve Berrylands and New Malden.
In the peaks, the stopping patterns change, Woking stoppers increase to 4tph, some of which continue to Guildford. Assorted other peak extras also run.

I will update here once the file is approved, and please comment below if you find any bugs/issues.

Happy signalling!

Jamie.

5A09 when it arrives into Woking should form 2A09, currently shows as 2A11 and has to have the timetable changed when it arrives into Woking.

Oh dear! That's quite an embarrassing one which I really should've picked up. I know exactly how that's happened, and I'll get that fixed this week, thanks for highlighting.
