All users now have the option of sharing their library of sims with other people. By default this will remain as private, ie only admins know what licenses you have. If you wish to allow others to see what sims you own, go to My Account and select Edit Profile. From the drop-down for "Your license visibility" choose the option you wish. Public means anybody signed in can go to your public profile page and see your sims. The Game Hosts option means that if you register to attend a game, that game's host will be able to see what sims you have. This helps them plan sessions, knowing who owns what, rather than having to ask each attendee what they have. For game hosts, on the Game Details page there is a new button to view attendees' licenses. Note that this only shows purchased licenses, so free sims will not show as purchased. Also, if an attendee chose not to show their licenses (see previous paragraph) then no purchases will be shown for that user. Also for game hosts, there is a new button on the Game Details page to test your ports. This means the website will attempt to reach each of the simulations you're hosting on the address and port specified. This will take anywhere from a few seconds to up to a minute to complete, so please be patient. A table of connection results (one row per sim hosted) will then appear. The SimSig Loader will show a connect/disconnect message if it opened the connection successfully. At the moment it just checks connectivity but in future might also check that the correct sim is on that port. Finally, probing ports like this is not foolproof and may report false failures in certain networking scenarios. SimSig Boss Log in to reply The following users said thank you: i26, peterb |

How does this interact with tester access? Nominally we have "licenses" for all simulations but that won't be reflected if this only shows purchased sims. Will it show us to be a tester so the host has visibility of our practical access when planning? "We don't stop camborne wednesdays" Log in to reply |
