It seems that there is no shunt route between E160 or E260 signal at the country end of Exeter St. Davids and the 35LOS on the up line to the country side of the station. This seems a bit odd as you can get a main aspect and subsidiary routes from E35 & E679 for the reverse movement.
This is in all eras
Apologies if this is either true to life and/or has been reported previously, I had a quick look at the forum, but didn't see it reported.

The train now standing on platform 2, should be on the rails

E160 / E260 do not have routes in the interlocking to the LOS on the Up Main Line.
"Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer

Both, as it happens, but that's alright one can't be expected to read and memorise every thread on the forum

Although the "Search" option in the left hand side bar is usually effective.
