Using the 2019 TT in a 'normal' scenario with lots of freight entering early. None of it is waiting booked time anywhere with TTs stepping up on arrival - this is happening at Doncaster station and various junctions, subsequently no call is made with the option to 'await booked time'.

Similarly at Decoy trains are calling well in advance of departure time with no option to ask them to wait booked time, although these ones aren't stepping up TT locations.

There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

I'm aware of the usual "don't like it don't buy it" brigade but 42 quid is pushing it... and I'm not one to complain about SimSig prices as I think they're fair but 42 pounds...

When running station at the meet, this didn't occur for me with trains on the 2WG lines ringing for an early run and being told to wait for time.

at Decoy, you can't decline departure, however when they ring back waiting at red signal, you should be able advise them to wait for time as normal.

I have just identified trains at St. Caths departing against a red signal which I'll log.

Can you provide some headcodes and locations/platforms for us to look at if possible.

Just a small issue noticed on the chain tonight, when sending a train from DON South to DON station, Sutton level crossing isnt clearing until the train is almost on DON Station sim. So the train is always leaving DON south on a single yellow towards Sutton.

In the UP direction id also say the timings are off slightly for Botany Bay as trains are passing a double yellow before that one clears.

2009 TT, 4D44 01:06 Belmont - Scunthorpe (Redbourne) for some reason is booked via Adwick, however as in the snapshot the train is at Adwick but travelling at 63mph so not taking the curve towards Thorpe Marsh at Adwick Junction.

Just to clarify but does Doncaster Station not chain with York North South or Leeds Ardsley as the manual makes no mention of them being chainable at this time even though they look to be chainable.

Doncaster North chains to York North / South and Leeds Ardsley, Doncaster Station does not.

For the other questions and comments posted so far, I'm not in an immediate position to answer them so will come back to them later in the day.

Not sure what has happened but S883 seems to have locked at red aspect on Sheffield fringe. I'm not sure how I've managed to achieve it and it seems to always be there regardless of time between trains. Below is the attached save; Train 6M80 is currently affected by it as well as any trains after it. With my current playthrough, the first affected train was 0D93.

Impossible to tell what is happening from a screenshot like that. Can you post a saved game?

Thanks for this. It would seem that S883 is being affected by the start up options of having TORR off. This shouldn't be the case.

4D44 is booked to Scunthorpe but is booked via Adwick, meaning at Adwick junction it would take the junction towards Hatfield & Stainforth, however when 4D44 gets to Adwick the train is doing over 60mph as though its going direct to Leeds. Maybe the timetable needs this train to be routed via Bentley Jc instead

I'll agree that it seems to be a lot of money, but I look at it like this: I usually put between 35 to 50 quid's worth of petrol in my car and it will last up to a couple of months or so depending on how much driving I do.

Now, the Doncaster station sim, as with all the others, will obviously last a lot longer than that. So, the petrol is gone, but the sim isn't. And let's face it. The sim will give endless hours, days, weeks, etc. of enjoyment :)

Just my opinion, which others might not agree with.

Hi

Maybe I missed it in the manual. Is there no route from D231 on the up slow into the Decoy railport?
It says no route between signals, if that is the case how do you get something from the Down Lincoln into Railport?

Many thanks
Francis

You need to get the slot for the Railport (click on the hollow green circle below D1418, the exit signal from the Railport, set up the correct route within the complex on the Shunter Panel then signal D231 > D1405 > grey triangle below D1418.

Something strange as I did it many times in testing and I've just re-tried it and everything worked as expected. Did you wait for the confirmation message that the Railport slot had been given?

When do you see the " no route" message? Is it when you try and click from the main signal D231 to the shunt signal D1405 or when you try and click from D1405 to the grey triangle? Is there a route set outwards from D1418 or from any of the yard signals to D1418?

Can you supply a saved game re-creating the circumstances from just before you try and click on the route that fails?

2 different locations. The shunter will advise exactly which line they want it on.

There is another way which could offer value for players and that's if SimSig introduced a subscription model on a monthly, 3 monthly, 6 monthly and yearly model as well as current pricing which for the subscription model would allow players to play all simulations while their subscription is active and once expired, they only have the simulations they brought or were freeware that are available to play, the payware simulations that they have yet to purchase will simply remain in demo mode until they purchase it or renew their subscription.

This has already proven popular and is feasible elsewhere so why not SimSig?

As to Bugsy view above, I can partly agree with it as I've brought quite a few simulations over the years but rather than hours of enjoyment, quite a few are only purchased for the MP sessions as playing solo, some of the simulations even with ARS can be a lot to manage so are not as enjoyable.

As to Doncaster, it is fully welcomed as a simulation that the community can appreciate and I for one welcome it's addition even if it's one that has to go on my wish list for some time next year.

Also unrelated. Train IDs don't seem to step when routing from where I have indicated onwards.

Does that mean permitting departure from Decoy just moves the train to the siding exit signal? It seems unlikely, given it's a berthing and traincrew relieving point, that trains would be calling hours in advance of departure still but perhaps thats something a shunter deals with ordinarily and its just being simulated here for completeness?

Location stepping seems to have fixed itself - I'm not sure if it was perhaps something to do with seeded trains.

There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

Also... Sorry I really am enjoying this SIM!

How do you get a train into the IEP depot from the station, there doesn't seem to be a grey triangle or similar?
