In game, when trying to interpose at ME776 GPL, the headcode appears at ME379 signal at Wendover. However, this is not the case on the actual panel (see screenshot attached). Thanks, Oliver Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |

That looks like CCF which may display berth locations differently to the actual panel for various reasons. It certainly shows the signal in a different location. Attached is my photo as of October 2023, and it appears that they have moved the position of it since they upgraded the panels at the IECC. However, given the system used now is newer, I presume the SimSig version may have been correct when westcad systems were used. Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |

You're obviously right though it doesn't look like that anymore, it uses IECC Scalable now, as it's called. The signal has not been moved, at least not as much as you would think, it's where it always was, at the London end of Great Missenden station. The platform is drawn in a slightly strange place in the original IECC Classic diagram, I don't really know why, although I think potentially the crossover and signal may have both moved towards London slightly. I think perhaps they did use to be within the length of the platform which would explain the original diagram as the style was to use those very small platform symbols for more minor stations and their sheer small size makes it look like the GPL was outside the platform at the country end which it certainly wasn't. Your pics don't prove there's a TD berth at 776 GPL though although I suspect there probably is now if CCF shows it like that, but it would not be at all unusual for the berth to be at 379, where it almost certainly was when the Sim was made. Can confirm that during IECC days when the sim was released there was no separate TD berth for ME776. The picture in the first post is from SignalMaps which is not exactly concrete proof of anything, especially as some of these websites don't understand the concept of dual address berths (no opinion on whether SignalMaps does or doesn't). Google Earth shows the crossover south of the station (ie current position) in 2006. The next earlier dates are both in 2003 and are pretty low quality, but don't appear to show the crossover south of the station. But I'm not convinced it's visible within the station either! However, there are large objects on both tracks, a hint of a crossover rail in one of the platforms, and lots of fresh ballast extending just to the north of the old crossover to just south of the new crossover so I suspect, therefore, that these were the works to move the crossover (Dec 2003). I would not be surprised if the IECC screens were not updated just for a relatively trivial and almost inconsequential move. SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

The crossover and GPL were indeed moved from the station platform to beyond it. I can't recall exactly when without having the data in front of me, but I *think* it was around the time the signal box was removed. Log in to reply |
